Head Injury Compensation Claims

Head injuries can range from minor injuries such as bruising and/or lacerations to the face or scalp right the way up to more serious injuries involving damage to the brain and scull.

How to Spot a Serious Head Injury

  1. Loss of Consciousness
This is one of the main indications that an accident victim may have suffered a head injury. If the victim has lost consciousness for even a short moment it is essential that medical help is sought immediately.
  2. Confusion
If the victim appears confused or dazed and is unable to remember simple information such as his/her name or date of birth or where they are then this is a common sign that the head trauma may be serious.

Head Injury Compensation Information

As with all compensation claims, the more severe the injury the larger the compensation award will be. In essence, the award for damages will be based upon the effect that the head injury has had on the victim. These can be subdivided into three main areas of compensation.

Physical effects:

These can include loss of coordination, seizures and tremors.

Cognitive effects:

These involve problems with attention or concentration or memory. It is also common for speech problems to result from a severe head injury.

Behavioural effects:

These can include aggression, depression and sometimes a change in the victim’s personality.

Each individual victim will differ and as such it is important that a full diagnosis is made and that compensation is awarded that is commensurate with the injuries sustained.

If you or somebody you know has suffered a head injury that was caused by somebody else then please complete the Claim Assessment Form. Our claims solicitors will then contact you in order to confirm whether or not you have grounds for making an accident compensation claim.

Please note that all of our claims solicitors act on a strictly no win no fee basis and that you or the victim will receive 100% of any damages that are awarded.
