Building site accidents

Building site accidents – Compensation advice

A large number of injury claims arise out of a Claimant’s employment on or within a building and or construction site. On the whole accidents on building sites tend to involve more serious injuries and sometimes even fatalities.

The main types of accident claim are:

  • Falls from scaffolding
  • Falls from heights
  • Manual handling accident
  • Accidents involving building site machinery
  • Falling materials

The owners of a building site and the employers of the work force who are employed on site owe all visitors and employees a common law and statutory duty whether in fact the visitors to the site are lawful or not. The rules are extremely stringent.

The main duties owed relate to the provision and use of personal protective clothing (this only applies to lawful visitors and employees). Further duties relate to safe systems of work throughout the building site, suitable and safe plan and machinery and the general competence and training of the work force.

If you have been involved in a building site accident within the last three years and wish to make a claim for compensation and receive damages please complete the Claim Assessment Form at the Accident at Work section.

Please note that all of our solicitors act on a ‘No Win No Fee’ basis and that you will receive 100% of any damages that may be awarded.
