Injury Claims
Claims for compensation for personal injury can arise when the victim
of an injury has sustained the damage whilst playing in an organised game
of football.
Commonly compensation is claimed and awarded where a
player has been caused serious injury due the negligence or recklessness
of another player, or if the referee has allowed play to continue when
it was clearly unsafe to do so.
Generally, only organised matches are covered by the
Law. As a matter of practicality, it is easier to apportion liability
if all parties are insured which is most common in football leagues where
the players pay to play. Furthermore, it is essential that the match was
officiated over by a Referee qualified to control that type of game.

may be left with some residual disability.
