Food Poisoning Claims

COMMON TYPES OF FOOD POISONING PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM

1. Salmonella Compensation Claims

Salmonella poisoning usually occurs when food has not been properly cooked or stored. Salmonella is a common bacteria found in poultry and eggs. The common symptoms are diarrhoea and vomiting. However, in some cases, symptoms are so sever as to cause permanent and long lasting problems.

2. E-Coli Compensation Claims

E-Coli poisoning occurs when food or food products have become contaminated and is most commonly found in beef and other dairy related foods and products. Symptoms are similar to those outlined above. However, as with all incidences of food poisoning there can be serious ramification for vulnerable victims such as the old and the young. In some cases the damage caused can be permanent and serious.

WHO IS LIABLE?

Ordinarily the person or business that provided you, the victim, with the food in question is liable if it can be proven that the food in question was contaminated and that the contamination caused your illness. All food outlets must comply with strict hygiene regulations and ensure that they source only the best food products. If it can be shown that they do not, then a claim for compensation can be made.

HOW DO I PROVE MY COMPENSATION CLAIM?

If you have suffered from food poisoning to a serious degree in the past three years and you are able to:

1. Prove via medical records that you sustained Food Poisoning.
2. Prove exactly what food item caused your illness.
3. Establish where you ate to purchase the offending food-stuff.

Then you may be able to claim for compensation.

If you have suffered an injury as a result of food poisoning within the last three years then please complete the Claim Assessment Form. One of our Personal Injury Solicitors will contact you to discuss your case. Please note that our solicitors act on a strictly ‘no-win, no-fee’ basis and that the legal advice is essentially free.
