Facial Injury Claims

Anyone who has sustained an injury affecting their face in the last three years may be in a position to make a compensation claim for the pain and suffering that they have endured as a result. Damages for personal injury are always assessed on the individual facts of each case and on how badly the injury has affected the Claimant’s life in general, including their working life.

THE MAIN CAUSES OF FACIAL INJURY CLAIMS

1. Accidents at Work
Slips, trips or falls in work premises or in the course of a Claimant’s employment are common ways in which facial injuries are sustained. Further, facial injuries are often sustained in industries that involve toxic chemicals or gases and also in industries that involve the use of machinery.

2. Building Site Claims
Accidents which occur on building sites are often a cause of facial injuries

3. Highway Claims
Slips, trips and falls on public roads or footpaths

4. Accidents in Shops
Slips, trips and falls in shops or licensed premises.

5. Sports Injuries
Injuries sustained whilst playing organised sports.

TYPES OF FACIAL INJURY

  1. Facial Burn Claims
This type of injury can be caused by chemical burns or due to any industrial process. Some degree of scarring may be inevitable.
  2. Orthopaedic Injury Claims
Fractures affecting any part of the face such as the cheekbone, eye socket or jaw bone will attract an award of damages if they were caused wholly or in part by someone else’s negligence. The treatment for this type of injury is necessarily complex and in a minority of cases, accident victims are left with some permanent disability.
  3. Facial scarring Claims
Commonly associated with (i) and (ii) above, but can also be caused by less serious accidents such as slips and trips or workplace accidents, usually involving the use of machinery.

If you have suffered from an accident resulting in facial scarring in the last three years then it may be possible to make a claim for compensation for these injuries. Please complete the Claim Assessment Form so that one of our qualified Personal Injury Solicitors can confirm that you have a valid claim for compensation and therefore assess your claim

Please note that all of our solicitors act on a ‘no win no fee’ basis and that you will receive 100% of any damages that may be awarded.
